The Terminator doesn’t go down easily, and neither does his franchise.
파라마운트 픽처스 announced this week that a sixth installment of the series is in the works, and will arrive July 26, 2019. And yes, Arnold Schwarzenegger will be back, along with Linda Hamilton.
That puts the new sequel two weeks after the release of Top Gun 2. Fans of ’80s action movies are just gonna have the best month.
Tim Miller (데드 풀) is helming the new movie. James Cameron, who directed the first two 터미네이터s, will produce. Miller and Cameron teamed up on the story, and David Goyer and Josh Friedman are writing the script.
The plot is being kept under very tight wraps, because letting the internet run wild digging for clues and spinning conspiracy theories is part of the fun. But we do know it’ll be a direct sequel to Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
Sorry, 터미네이터 3 : 기계의 상승, 터미네이터 구원및 Terminator Genisys – none of you guys really count anymore. And Cameron is happy to throw you all under the bus.
“We’re pretending the other films were a bad dream,” he told 할리우드 리포터 in a recent interview. “Or an alternate timeline, which is permissible in our multi-verse.”
(Never mind that Cameron himself praised Genisys during its press tour in 2015, gushing that it had “reinvigorated” the franchise. ¯_(ツ)_/¯)
True, 터미네이터s three through five are no one’s favorite movies. Still: ouch.
Anyway, here’s hoping Terminator 6 will be better, especially since it’s intended to be the start of a trilogy.
And if it’s not? Eh, they’ll probably just wait a few years and reboot the timeline again anyway.
