Hello everyone, and welcome back to Will It Casserole, the column where we see what meals, dishes, and cuisines can be re-imagined and transformed into casseroles.
Our last, Thanksgiving-inspired behemoth was quite enjoyable, but I am ready to leave that particular holiday behind and move on. Some ideas I had:
- Pie Casserole: Just many different flavors of pie, layered, with some sort of crunchy topping.
- Italian Sub Casserole: I envision lots of crispy cured meats, some provolone, good bread, and a vinegar-heavy drizzle.
- Hamburger Casserole: I’m not talking Hamburger Helper—I’m talking about a combo of beef, cheese, bacon, onion, and toasted, cubed sesame seed buns. And you can bet tu buns it’d be topped with diced pickles.
- Food Court Casserole: All of the food court classics would be involved here—crappy pizza, some sort of sweet and sour chicken situation, and maybe a steak sandwich.
Of course, feel free to leave your brilliant ideas. I am open to casseroling any and everything, as long as it doesn’t involve any more turkey.
